Job Summary: The Cost Accountant in our company is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs related to food and beverage, operational expenses, and other relevant areas. This role involves collaborating with various departments to develop cost-saving strategies while ensuring high-quality service standards are maintained.

Cost Analysis:
- Analyze costs associated with food and beverage, inventory, labor, and other operational expenses.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Regularly review cost reports and budgets to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for deviations.
- Work closely with department heads to develop realistic budget targets and control expenses effectively.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory control procedures to minimize waste and optimize stock levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and supplies.
Cost Control Procedures:
- Develop and implement cost control procedures to streamline operations and maximize profitability.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with cost control policies across all departments.
- Provide training and support to staff on cost management best practices.
Financial Analysis:
- Prepare financial reports and analysis related to cost trends, variances, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the finance team to generate accurate and timely financial statements.
- Present findings and recommendations to management to support decision-making processes.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate vendor contracts and negotiate favorable terms to minimize costs.
- Monitor vendor performance and address any issues related to pricing or quality.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors and leverage purchasing power.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance requirements related to cost accounting.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls in all cost-related processes.
- Collaborate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- Two years or more of related experience required.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
