Physicians Mutual is seeking a Marketing Sr Cost Accountant.  This game-changing career will give you the opportunity to perform various cost-related functions for Direct Marketing Promotion and Operating budgets. 

What you get to do:

• Manages marketing circulation and expense data to ensure accuracy and provides key data for profitability and acquisition expense ratio calculations
• Ensures Marketing’s annual promotion budgets are balanced and accurate and produced by the Corporate deadline
• Affirms analyzations are accurate and applicable to the appropriate line of business to assure reporting information leads to profitable business decisions by product
• Develops monthly roll-up reporting budget assumptions for Direct Marketing.  Enforces the use of the assumptions with all areas of Direct Marketing
• Evaluates existing reports, programs and applications for accuracy, efficiency, completeness and initiates any changes/fixes needed
• Exercises a keen attention to detail in order to minimize errors in Business Report results, which provide important cost information to the Executive Committee to aid in profitable decisions
• Uploads and expedites information across various accounting and marketing systems, assuring continuity across all platforms
• Takes detailed ownership of cost data, knowing that company decisions are being made based on the accuracy of the results.
• Maintains the documentation of data and creatively develops reports and dashboards for analysis; ensures costs are properly loaded
• Automates cost trend reports through Tableau, SQL, and Microsoft Office Applications using multiple data sources
• Seeks out opportunities for reporting improvements made available through Company innovation and technology and recommends changes

Requirements:

• MA or MS degree in Math/Statistics, Analytics, Marketing, Accounting, or relevant field
• 4 years work experience in Direct Marketing or relevant field
• Strong time management skills to include decision making and problem-solving abilities necessary to perform multiple tasks with competing deadlines
• Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate to both internal and external customers
• Demonstrates knowledge of cost accounting principles and general accounting.
• Ability to identify cost-related needs, initiate changes as required and follow through to completion.
• Excellent knowledge of Database Query tools and data integration tools (Tableau, SQL, MS Access, Excel, etc.)
