Job Description
The Human Resources Technician (HR Tech) works within the Human Capital Management (HCM) Administrative Services division and provides clerical and administrative support to the team and performs a variety of data entry activities that affect all departments, agencies, and employees of state government.
The incumbent gathers and organizes supporting and confidential information as the basis for important labor, fiscal, and resource decisions for members of the senior leadership team and others. In addition, this person maintains official confidential records and verifies the correctness/completeness of documents submitted by agencies and as required, makes all necessary corrections and/or changes and communicates them to appropriate parties.
This person must communicate clearly; he/she must have experience handling, processing, filing, and distributing processed transaction records, confidential documents, and reports.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of a high school diploma with two years’ general office experience, preferably in a human resources-related environment; an associate’s degree in public administration, human resources management, or a related field is desired. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to use computer software, automated databases, and related technology is required. This is a temporary position, with an estimated duration of 18-months, that reports to the Chief of Human Resource Services/Human Resources Supervisor and is required to work on-site, 35 hours per week, in Providence, RI.
