  • Summary

    The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers key financial and human resource transaction services to customers.

    Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Services Supervisor, you will be an important member of the Accounts Receivable team. Our Accounts Receivable Team processes financial transactions received by the U-M SSC from the University of Michigan community and their business partners. You will identify and apply payments on behalf of the university.

    Work Location:

    Work is 75% remote and weekly on-site presence will be required. You are required to have a high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided for your use.

    Responsibilities*

    • Pull daily bank reports for university accounts and apply payments to customer accounts
    • Deposit checks and process payments to Account Receivable invoices
    • Record credit card payments and provide support for the SSC Online Credit Card portal
    • Compile and record journal entries
    • Partner with our customers to research payment discrepancies and update entries
    • Research unallocated funds and apply them to the proper accounting unit


    Required Qualifications*

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 1 years of experience providing customer service
    • Intermediate level proficiency with data entry
    • 1 years of experience with business software solutions
