Computer Operations Supervisor supervises computer operations, acting as a team resource for guidance and support on complex or unusual issues. Implements policies and procedures to perform routine tasks to maintain computer equipment and its peripherals. Being a Computer Operations Supervisor continuously monitors the efficacy of computer operations, backup processes, system monitors, and server availability to ensure operation goals are met. Analyzes and records error messages to diagnose issues and works with impacted groups to provide a timely solution. Additionally, Computer Operations Supervisor recommends potential equipment upgrades to improve the capabilities of computer operations. Ensures computer operations activities meet pre-established production targets and maintain operating budgets. May require an associate degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. The Computer Operations Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Computer Operations Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Daily Duties / Responsibilities:

Monitors, tests, maintains and repairs network and infrastructure elements for Clemson CCIT.
Monitors Clemson network, server, and application elements, resolve incidents and service requests and/or consult with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Applies simple state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve network control center.
Configure network and system resources, and maintain corresponding system records and documentation. Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements. Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems. Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches.
Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base. Participates in training and cross training for the Tier II. Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.
Monitors mainframe, applications and batch processing. Responds to issues, alerts, incidents, tickets and resolve incidents and service requests and/or consult with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Meets agreed SLA time requirements.
