    Director of Compliance Overview
    As the Director of Compliance, you will oversee the compliance and IC recruiting departments, ensuring that our home delivery teams comply with federal, state, and local regulations, DOT, and company and client policies. You will manage and lead a team of dedicated employees to continue building a highly engaged workforce to achieve key business strategies, collaborative partnerships, and strict adherence to applicable compliance requirements and standards.
    This individual will be an essential part of UST’s growth and success, built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will “Execute Excellence Every time”—known internally as E3.


    Responsibilities
    (include, but are not limited to)

    • Assists in the development and implementation of department goals and strategies in coordination with the entire risk management department
    • Builds positive relationships with internal/external partners and manages escalated compliance or insurance-related inquiries
    • Completes other projects and assignments related to these responsibilities as needed
    • Conducts regular audits and evaluations of the compliance systems
    • Develops and delivers needed reporting, correspondence, and system updates timely and professionally
    • Directly manages daily compliance department and IC recruiting operations from onboarding to termination
    • Leads and motivates staff to build and sustain a productive, cohesive, highly motivated team
    • Makes independent judgments that have considerable impacts on the organization
    • Manages employee performance to ensure individual and team goals are achieved. Provide support and coaching to improve performance or generate opportunities for further growth and development
    • Manages, designs, and implements policies, procedures, indicators, internal controls, monitoring and reporting to improve overall work quality and effectiveness
    • Reviews and manages work quality and quantity to support team and corporate goals, regulatory and contractual compliance; and improve operations and outcomes
    • Serves as a knowledge expert, trainer, and resource for direct reports, independent contractors, business partners, and leadership, providing information and guidance on compliance requirements
    • Supports and partners with the Legal team in embedding a risk-aware culture

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience
    • Ability to articulate a compelling vision or goal and inspire, empower, and motivate others to achieve it
    • Ability to demonstrate a broad technical knowledge and expertise covering the conduct of business, corporate governance, and regulatory matters
    • Ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Possess a practical and commercial approach to solid problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
    • Previous experience with compliance, insurance, FCRA, FMCSA and DOT regulations
    • Proven track record of delivering enhancements to process efficiency
