    About the role

    The Compensation Analyst acts as a project manager and provides advanced analytical expertise to the planning, design, development, and administration of compensation and total rewards programs across the organization. Principal outcomes of this position include executing, modeling, and recommending strategies and programs that maximize competitive offerings, drive business results and support MyEyeDr.’s strategic goals in a cost-effective manner.

    The Compensation Analyst provides key insights to internal stakeholders and business partners to develop, evaluate and support base pay and variable pay programs. This position will interface regularly with HR Business Partners and multiple levels of leadership to ensure compensation components are competitively positioned and effectively attract, retain, recognize, and reward top talent while ensuring MyEyeDr. remains an employer of choice.

    The Compensation Analyst will report to the Director, Compensation and is a hybrid role, offering a flexible work arrangement based out of MyEyeDr.’s Home Office in Vienna, VA.

    You Will

    • Work collaboratively and influentially on projects with cross-functional business partners including but not limited to Accounting, Finance, Legal, Operations, Communications, and IT to achieve desired business outcomes.
    • Provide analysis to deliver effective, accurate and competitive pay programs to our Associates and Optometrists in support of their work with our patients.
    • Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining MyEyeDr.’s job architecture, career levels, and pay bands in conjunction with management and HRBPs.
    • Audit jobs for content and prepare job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements.
    • Perform market analysis of MyEyeDr’s jobs to determine competitive positioning and recommend base pay changes. Responsible for data implementation, auditing and data validation, and system analytics.
    • Provide guidance to management regarding salary changes associated with promotions, demotions, transfers, and relocations as well as market and equity adjustments. Recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related concerns.
    • Conduct job evaluations and reviews job classification and reclassifications requests: quality controls the job classification process for both exiting and newly created positions as well as auditing existing classifications.
    • Monitor regulatory legislation and audit to identify potential compensatory, operational, and financial impacts. Ensure compliance with existing federal, state, and local compensation related regulations (Minimum Wage, FLSA, EEO-1, Wage & Hour). Monitor cost of wage geographic differentials.
    • Assist in the planning and administration of annual salary review cycles, manage off cycle processes and budget preparation. Ensure compensation programs follow internal and external regulations and policies.
    • Assist with the creation and modification of compensation operation policies, guidelines, procedures, and compliance documentation.
    • Participate in salary surveys, analyze survey results to determine MyEyeDr.’s competitive position, and make recommendations relative to benchmarking jobs.
    • Assist in projects that support compensation design, including data collection, data analysis, presentation development, communication, and program implementation.
    • Provide recurring and ad-hoc HR reports and statistics as needed.
    • Support the design, communication, and implementation of incentive plans.
    • Assists with the development of variable pay plans, various incentive metrics, analyses, and account reconciliations. May audit and maintain quota tracking reports, quota changes, and pay plan changes.
    • Calculates monthly and quarterly commission payments for participants on a variable compensation plan.
    • May assist with compilation of monthly financial reporting, forecasts and assist with budget preparation.

    About You

    • 4 years of experience in the analysis, design, and administration of compensation programs; including experience working with job architecture and multiple surveys.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance, or related field.
    • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) preferred.
    • Strong auditing and incentive/commission calculation experience.
    • Strong analytic and quantitative skills, with a track record of managing compensation projects. Able to audit and analyze large data sets efficiently.
    • Solid working knowledge of HR regulations and Compliance needs related to Compensation.
    • Experience in job leveling and pay band development
    • Working knowledge of compensation practices, principles and regulations required; experience at large multi-state companies preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be influential with impactful presentation skills.
    • Advanced Microsoft Office experience: in particular, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel experience that includes VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts, regression analysis, and nested function statements.
    • Detail-oriented strategic thinker and strong with data and analytics. Ability to capture and analyze large compensation data files and create Excel-based models, proficient with complex formulas.
    • Exhibit proactive drive and intellectual curiosity to conduct research, streamline processes, assess opportunities, model improvements, and make proposals to ensure that MyEyeDr.’s compensation practices are aligned with business strategies.
    • Able to maintain confidentiality of information and privacy of associate information.
