Collections Specialist - Healthcare jobs in Delaware

Position Summary: TriSource Staffing is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our client's team on a temp to hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable and collections, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach. This position offers an opportunity to transition to a permanent role based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and execute the collections process for outstanding accounts receivable.
• Contact customers via phone, email, and mail to secure payment for overdue accounts.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements within company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of all collections activities, including detailed notes on interactions with customers.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes regarding customer accounts.
• Work closely with the accounting team to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate billing.
• Prepare and distribute regular reports on the status of delinquent accounts.
• Follow up on payment promises and coordinate with customers to ensure timely payment.
• Escalate issues to the Collections Manager when necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of documents for legal action against delinquent accounts when required.
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding debt collection practices.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a collections role or accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of collections regulations and best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
