CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER manages the collection and analysis of clinical outcomes data to develop clinical process improvement initiatives. Oversees staff who gather data on performance metrics and facilitates the review of clinical program effectiveness. Being a CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER provides advanced analyses and reports on clinical outcomes data. Evaluates and summarizes patient data to ensure that care is provided in accordance with clinical guidelines and organizational standards. Additionally, CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER identifies areas for improvement and assists leaders/physicians in developing strategies to improve performance. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing or healthcare related area. May require a Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a director. The CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a CLINICAL OUTCOMES MANAGER typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Patient Engagement Strategy Manager will serve as a subject matter expert in Patient Engagement, Enrollment and Retention. They will define, and implement strategic initiatives and tactics with all relevant stakeholders that drive high quality patient enrollment, retention and engagement which are site and patient centric to achieve organizational goals and targets while improving the overall patient experience. They will maintain reference data, business rules and drive quality improvement for the organization.


    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Create and drive strategies to enroll, engage and retain high quality participants for Phase I-IV clinical trials while adhering to the ICH/GCP guidelines
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of GCP and ICH guidelines and clinical trial processes to be effectively collaborative in driving programs and initiatives
    • Collaborate with cross-functional team and with the clinical research managers and site directors to drive strategies and achieve enrollment and engagement targets
    • Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and understanding of study specific protocols to determine participant eligibility and create patient grading for the potential participants
    • Track recruitment metrics, key performance indicators, key risk indicators, and run impact assessment on the enrollment campaigns and initiatives including contingency and mitigation strategies.
    • Drive a reporting structure and present the outcomes of the impact assessment to the higher management
    • Develop and establish Quality and Training Standards for the Patient Enrollment team
    • Ensure established quality standard is met by conducting daily quality checks and audits on the patient communications to ensure effective patient enrollment and engagement
    • Lead, define and maintain training strategies for onboarding / new hire training within the Patient Enrollment department as well as deliver, conduct, and assist with new hire onboarding for all organizational Patient Enrollment Specialists.
    • Collaborate with other Patient Enrollment/Pre-screen Leads to identify ongoing/continuous pain points within the department as well as to ensure all individual, team, and departmental goals and expectations are being cohesively worked towards and met.
    • Establish structure to conduct individual, group, and departmental training as well as feedback sessions to ensure the highest level of quality in all work and patient interactions.
    • Create and train the training team on training materials and guides.
    • Create, conduct, and deliver knowledge and feedback checks/surveys to ensure and measure the efficacy of training materials and presentations.
    • Capturing required metrics in company databases while adhering to IRB and HIPAA guidelines for data collection, to drive the ongoing evaluation of program operations.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

    Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in medical/health sciences or a Foreign Medical Graduate from a 4 year accredited college, required
    • Master’s Degree in Health Sciences or related field, preferred
    Experience:
    • 3 years in Clinical Research or related field
    • 2 years experience in Patient Engagement and Enrollment
