Clinical Ethicist offers guidance to patients, their families, and professional staff on ethical, legal and policy issues and concerns stemming from clinical interactions between health care professionals and patients. Provides guidance to the institutional ethics committee pertaining to policy formulation and educational and case review activities. Being a Clinical Ethicist develops institutional policies concerning ethical issues such as "do-not-resuscitate" and "withdrawal of life-support". Requires a master's degree or doctorate related to health ethics. Additionally, Clinical Ethicist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Clinical Ethicist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.     The Nurse Manager Inpatient Oncology Services will work for a health organization that is home to one of the top flagship Cancer treatment and research centers, known for their and is the largest regional provider of stell cell transplant services in the area. The Nurse Manager Inpatient Oncology Services will oversee a 25 bed inpatient oncology unit with stem cell transplant, bone marrow transplant, biopsies, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma patients. Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager Inpatient Oncology Services include managing day-to-day operations of the unit, ensuring regulatory compliance, updating policy procedures, preparing for accreditation and surveys, monitoring the unit budget, and assisting the Nurse Educator to develop new-hire and current employee education programs. With a go-getter, positive attitude, the Inpatient Oncology Services Nursing Manager will be the department resource who is excited to mentor teams, educate individuals on best practices and techniques, a strong communicator working with multidisciplinary teams, and an advocate to their team, patients and patient families.

    Qualifications

    • Registered Nurse with inpatient oncology experience, ideally working in a unit with stem cell transplant and/or bone marrow transplant patients but not required.
    • Prior leadership experience working as a Clinical Director Nurse Manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, Supervisor, or Charge Nurse on an inpatient oncology unit
