Clinical Educator is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for clinical health workers. Identifies professional development needs, facilitates training, and conducts in-service sessions. Being a Clinical Educator conducts research to stay current with health care regulations and best practices. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Clinical Educator requires certification as an instructor for both ACLS and BLS. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Clinical Educator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Promotes excellence, as a frontline nurse leader, in clinical nursing care and contributes to the professional growth and development of nursing staff through clinical education and professional development activities in support of the CHI Health Nursing Strategic Plan and Vision. Responsible for collaboratively implementing education initiatives and priorities as established by CHI Health nursing division and campus leadership. Acts as change agent and mentor while promoting interdisciplinary teamwork and evidence based practice and teaching. Assists nursing staff and profession in acquisition of skills, knowledge and competencies through needs assessment and development of implementation plan for programs.
BSN required. Master’s Degree in Nursing or completion of MSN program within 5 years of start date.
Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact.
Basic life support is required upon hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include the following: American Heart Association: Basic Life Support.
Nursing education experience demonstrating progressive experience in the development and implementation of clinical education programs.
Minimum three years relevant nursing experience. Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written).
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Knowledge and application of advanced nursing skills.
Ability to critically think in complex situations.
