The People’s Health & Wellness Clinic (PHWC) is looking for a qualified office manager to help run a free healthcare facility in downtown Barre City, Vermont. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication and organizational skills. Computer knowledge and office experience are required. The ability to perform well in stressful situations is an essential part of this job.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the front office at PHWC.
Greet patients as they arrive at the clinic and assist them in completing paperwork and scheduling appointments.
Answer incoming calls, provide information, transfer calls, and/or take messages.
Communicate patient needs and manage patient flow in cooperation with PHWC’s staff and volunteers.
Train and coordinate administrative volunteers to assist in front office duties.
Coordinate coverage of the front office and phones with staff during your absences.

Skills
Proven work experience as an office manager
Knowledge of administrative processes and principles
Ability to handle medical records discreetly and professionally
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multi-task and perform well in stressful situations
Communication skills and customer service orientation
Ability to express compassion and understanding for our patients
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
6-12 months of relevant experience is strongly recommended in a clinical setting or office setting, although we are willing to train for the right person.
Job Type
24 hours per week, part-time Monday through Thursday.
Pay and Benefits
$19-$21 per hour based on experience plus a benefits package that includes paid time off, retirement, and healthcare.
