ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Uses principles of education and adult learning to design educational activities. Promotes a learning environment in a manner that enhances learner’s competence to provide quality healthcare and to enhance clinical skills through group activities, classroom lecture presentations, individual instruction or the general use of role model and mentoring concepts. Integrates research, evidence-based practice, and current literature into educational activities. Reflects an integration of knowledge, skills, experience and attitude needed to present educational offerings to staff engaged in direct patient care, certification, accreditation, compliance standards and risk management. Facilitates participation in the development, attainment and evaluation of nurse and other colleague orientation. Participates in education needs assessment for Patient Care Services. Provides focused education to specific units/clinics/departments. Maintains records of educational offerings. Maintains own clinical skills and competence related to clinical practice and staff development.
