  • Description: We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Director of Student Affairs to join our team on our Draper, UT campus. The Director of Student Affairs provides academic and administrative leadership to Joyce University in conjunction with the Vice President of Enrollment Management and the Senior Vice President of Strategy and Experience. The Director of Student Affairs is responsible for collaborating with all levels of the organization to coordinate, execute and communicate integrated plans for the continuous quality improvement, growth, and development in all educational and student programs. The Director of Student Affairs combines both strategic thinking and strong execution skills, across various forms of education styles. This position supports the academic and student programs of the University, supports policy development in student learning, academic programs, teaching, and areas related to student success and experience.

    WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY:

    • Shares information with students and colleagues to promote student success, retention, and graduation.
    • Creates a culture of student support and accountability, applying student development theories that promote academic and personal success thereby increasing student satisfaction and student retention.
    • Provides leadership and direction to faculty and staff in the development of initiatives and activities that promote student success and help to meet expected student outcomes.
    • Maintains professional working relationships with administration, faculty, and other academic and support units including the counseling of students.
    • Oversees all student exception processes (leave of absence, grievances, appeals, etc)
    • Directs student discipline efforts (Academic integrity, Student code of conduct)
    • Provide direction to and coordinate appropriate professional services (i.e. mental health, victim advocacy, etc.) for students in crisis or otherwise requiring or asking for interventions.
    • Ensures compliance with relevant regulatory agencies and monitor industry trends and accreditation standards, including but not limited to ADA.
    • Provide leadership and guidance in analysis, review, creation, and interpretation of student policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that institutional policies are aligned with professional standards of practice and health care needs of the community.
    • Develop strategies for promoting student diversity and engagement.
    • Oversee outreach to diverse student populations such as Veterans to support institutional diversity and inclusion goals.
    • Participate in development and implementation of policies and procedures affecting students.
    • Support the goals of Joyce University's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
    • Execute strategies for continuous data-informed quality improvement.
    • Maintain a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
    • Provide reports and data to the University and regulatory and accrediting bodies that demonstrate continuous improvement in student support.
    • Collaborate with departments on developing and maintaining student orientations for incoming students and continuing students.
    • Oversee student affairs and academic advising department.
    • Ensure quality and efficacy of student events (commencement, pinning, co-curricular activities, etc.)
    • Other projects as assigned.
