    Job Summary and Qualifications

    As Chief Dietitian at our facility you will have the opportunity to be both a nutrition professional and a caregiver as a member of a hard-working and compassionate team that is so vital for the day-to-day functions of our hospital. In this role:

    • You will be accountable for managing the clinical area of the department including supervision and guidance of Clinical Dietitians and Diet Clerks.
    • You will plan and deliver nutrition care for patients in accordance with physician’s diagnoses and requirements of regulatory agencies.
    • You will function as a member of the multi-disciplinary health care team to screen newly admitted patients to identify those at nutritional risk.
    • You will develop orientation, continuing education, knowledge and skills as appropriate for patients of all ages.
    • You will participate in patient care conferences and multi-disciplinary team meetings to provide nutrition information of patient nutritional status for inpatient and outpatient discharge care plans.
    • You will provide drug-nutrient interrelationship information to medical staff to assure patients receive maximum benefit from drugs and diet.
    • You will assist with data collection and evaluation of quality assurance indicators to monitor the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
    • You will assist with on-the-job training of Diet Clerks and other employees to ensure an understanding of department policies and procedures and guidelines for clinical care.
    • You will assist in the development and implementation of patient nutrition care programs to ensure program consistency.
    • You will conduct in-services/presentations as requested to health care professionals, hospital employees, and the community to enhance understanding of the role of nutrition in health and promote the role of the Registered Dietitian.

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Licensed Dietitian in the State of Utah.
    • Registered Dietitian status with the Commission in Dietetic Registration and the American Dietetic Association.
    • Food Handler’s Permit or ServSafe Food Handler certification.
    • 3 years of experience as a Registered and Certified Clinical Dietitian.
    • Working rotating weekends is required
