POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for the Y’s strategic direction, financial stability, community relations, staffing, development, planning, training, facilities, operations, communications, and technology systems. This role provides leadership to the Board of Directors, staff, and committees to establish and implement programs, policies, and goals, and in setting an institutional culture that embodies the Y core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Enhance Operations: Oversee the Y’s activities, engaging the board and staff to create goals aligned with our strategic plan. Cultivate innovation, pilot new ideas to meet future needs and advance our mission.
Fiscal Management: Utilize advanced financial analysis to forecast trends and ensure stability, leading the organization to achieve balanced or surplus operations through revenue growth and cost control. Empower and guide staff to lead their departments to successful financial operation.
Develop High-Performing Team: Lead staff to fulfill mission and goals, emphasizing mentoring and coaching alongside performance accountability. Implement talent development aligned with our values, focusing on diverse recruitment, retention, and promotion. Deepen a culture of camaraderie, inclusion, and sense of mission and purpose.
Elevate Y as Community Partner: Represent the Y’s mission, vision, and values as key partner in the community. Develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, while endorsing the Y as a leading non-profit who fosters community connection and empowerment.
Implement a Strategic Plan: Work with volunteers, community leaders, and key staff to implement a strategic plan that addresses the needs of the communities served by the Y and includes defined organizational strategies, a clear implementation plan with deliverables, and measurable goals.
Cause-Driven Leadership: Inspire and mobilize staff, members, volunteers, community members, and community partners to strengthen communities for all. Convene people from different backgrounds, perspectives, and generations to ensure access to the opportunities, relationships, and resources necessary to learn, grow and thrive. Create a welcoming, equitable, affirming, authentic and supportive environment dedicated to strengthening communities.
