Job Responsibilities:
· Ensuring compliance with NPDES permit for analytical testing of discharge wastewater
· Perform wet chemistry on wastewater
· Perform gas chromatography on oil and various sampling
· Perform analysis on coal and coke as needed.
· Maintain calibration on balances and spectrophotometers
· Recordkeeping to comply with environmental audits
Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred but not required. Experience in other requirements of job may be considered.
· Experience in wet chemistry and laboratory practices/techniques is a plus.
· Chromatography (GC) experience preferred but not required.
· Excellent communication skills required as applicant will interact with various departments.
· 3-5 years of wastewater laboratory experience preferred but not required.
· Strong adherence to safety measures due to exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
· NPDES permit application experience a plus but not required.
