Central Supply Supervisor supervises employees responsible for either all central supply functions or one specific function such as sterilization, equipment distribution, or linen supply. Assists employees in day-to-day tasks and ensures hospital procedures are followed and standards are met. Being a Central Supply Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Central Supply Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Central Supply Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     The purpose of this position is to evaluate facility need, order and maintain adequate resident care supplies and all other supplies as requested. To maintain an efficient, accurate system to identify charges for resident care supplies.

    Education Requirements

    High school diploma or eqnivalency and Certified Nursing Assistant in the state currently employed.

    Experience Requirements

    At least one year clerical experience, preferably in a medical office or healthcare environment.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE

    Ability to use personal computer to perform duties as required.

    • Evaluate the facility resident care supply needs.
    • Develop an efficient system to order adequate resident care supplies.
    • Order adequate resident care supplies.

    • Maintain an efficient system for storing resident care supplies for prompt retrieval.
    • Develop and maintain an efficient, accurate system to identify charges for resident care supplies.
    • Perform all duties assigned in an effective and timely manner.
    • Be responsible for collecting data on the amount of supplies needed from each resident care area.
    • Identify type and amount of each item to be stocked. Maintain supplies in a neat, clean and organized manner.
    • Follow instructions for proper storage of supplies.
    • Receive, review and have requisitions approved before ordering.
    • Keep accurate, organized records of the type and amount of supplies received.
    • Receive incoming supplies and verify with original purchase order.
    • Receive or unload supplies and distribute stock and/or store in a neat, efficient and safe manner.
    • Send invoices to business office promptly for payment
    • Report all problems with obtaining supplies promptly to administration.
    • Report any problems with ordering of supplies promptly to administration.
    • Understand and maintain records related to the facility resident charge system in an accurate, neat and organized manner.
    • Provide the business office with accurate charges for supplies used by individual residents.
    • Work cooperatively with nursing staff and with facility suppliers.
    • Provide accurate reports to administration of the type and amount of supplies received.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned by Management.
