Catering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates catered events for an establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules catering staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Catering Manager develops and maintains catering accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Catering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Catering Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Catering Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     A’BriTin (FoodServices division) is seeking energetic, talented candidates with a strong work ethic for an Assistant Manager – ATCC position with our growing catering company at one of our college institution partners. This position requires successfully managing and training cooks, barista and cashier staff, caterers, and servers to prepare and execute coffee shop and cafeteria food/beverage services and catering events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, food inventory and ordering, managing staff, training, day-to-day kitchen operations, and employee scheduling. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to grow with our company. The ideal candidate should be educated in culinary arts, hard-working, fantastic manager, and customer service oriented.

    Essential Functions

    • Oversee all aspects of the college/school coffee shop and cafeteria.
    • Food inventory and ordering for coffee shop, lunch, and breakfast for the cafeteria.
    • Responsible for opening the site.
    • Responsible for running money tills and point of sale (POS) systems.
    • Provide excellent customer service.
    • Ability to lead events and services of all styles.
    • Serve food and beverages to customers as necessary.
    • Creativity/innovation in new culinary ideas and serving styles.
    • Manage teams of seasonal and part-time coffee shops, cafeterias, and event team members.
    • Create and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs).
    • Train and build relationships with new employees.
    • Comply with health and safety regulations.
    • Oversee the entire day-to-day catering operation and production at the college.
    • Teach cooks, baristas, and cashiers the lifecycle of the job and work.
    • Menu development and daily specials
    • Employee scheduling
    • Perform additional/other duties when needed or as required as assigned by management.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous work experience as a Chef, Head Chef, Catering Manager, or Assistant Manager.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Able to work and react quickly and confidently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Must have a can-do attitude.
    • Must be customer service oriented.
    • Have a team mentality while functioning as an individual leader.
    • Eager to learn and improve your skills and knowledge within the field.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • A degree in culinary arts is desired but not required.
    • 1-3 years of work within the food industry
    • Catering experience a plus
    • Strong leadership experience
    • Knowledge of food and labor costs

    Additional Notes:

    • Prolonged standing for long periods.
    • Able to lift and push 50 pounds.
