Category Manager develops the overall strategy for a product category and researches new product options in the category to drive sales and achieve targets. Leads a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions. Being a Category Manager works closely with sales team to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products to promote sales opportunities. Provides effective promotional materials. Additionally, Category Manager may develop special arrangements with vendors to enhance product promotions. Requires a bachelor's degree of marketing. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Category Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Category Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Job Description:
The Category Manager for Corporate Services & IT is responsible for developing and implementing global category strategies for Corporate Services and IT. The Category Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our Corporate Services and IT procurement categories, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and alignment with the company's strategic objectives. The Category Manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders within HR, finance, and IT.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Management Corporate Services & IT- In close cooperation with internal stakeholders, develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for Corporate Services categories, including but not limited to marketing, professional services, staffing services, travel, fleet, and IT
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across HR, finance and IT to understand their requirements, align procurement strategies, and ensure effective communication and service delivery
- Conduct RFP/RFQs and lead teams through the evaluation and selection process in accordance with company goals and policies
- Review purchase requests for completeness and compliance with company requirements; negotiates with suppliers and approves purchases within their authorized amounts or size
- Communicate category strategies, initiatives, and performance updates to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage supplier performance to ensure quality and cost-effective services
- Analyze spend data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement initiatives to achieve cost reductions while maintaining service quality
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with supplier contracts, service delivery, and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within the categories.
- Monitor and track cost savings, performance metrics, and KPIs to measure the success of category strategies
- Manage the maintenance of agreements with suppliers between Delrin and the supply base
- Develop and maintain agreement templates.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong leadership, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work well in a global, high-pace, dynamic, results oriented environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is a preference.
- Fluent in English. Dutch is a preference.
- This is a full-time position located in the Netherlands (Dordrecht) or USA (Parkersburg or Wilmington)
