This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position working Monday through Friday. Hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. This position is eligible for a $2,500 Sign on Bonus!

- Plan and implement activities for the residents in both individual and group settings
- Encourage, support, and assist residents to help continue their individual interests and hobbies
- Maintain an open working relationship with the resident's family/guardian
- Observe and document activity attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement
- Transport residents safely to and from activities of their choosing
- Train, supervise, and evaluate staff in the Activities Department.
- Communicate facility programs and organize community events with residents, staff, family and volunteers
- Act as a positive representative of the facility at all times
- Respond to emergencies on an on-call basis
- Perform other related tasks as requested
- Degree in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant strongly preferred
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred
- Knowledge of relevant state, federal, and OSHA regulations
- Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities
- Ability to manage planning of several activities and events simultaneously.
- Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games
- Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood
