Wynona Public Schools is accepting applications for the position of Cafeteria Manager/Cook for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. This position potentially is a longer-term position for future employment.

The primary objective of the Cafeteria Manager/Cook is to ensure healthy, tasty, fresh meals are prepared and served for breakfast and lunch on time to the students and staff of Wynona Public Schools. We want to hire a Cafeteria Manager/Cook that is going to stand out from the rest. We want all of our staff to have great skills in communication, listening, collaboration, consistent, patient, resourceful and have empathy. Staff expectation is to have appropriate emotional control, physical health and personal appearance. Staff may be asked to perform other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned by the school administration. Must have the ability to do simple arithmetic. Must be an independent self-starter able to meet deadlines and follow food safety requirements/guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Superintendent
• Responsible for managing the overall operation of the school cafeteria
• Responsible for leading the cafeteria team in all aspects of operation
• Create, maintain, and update menus
• Planning, receiving, preparing, cooking, serving and clean up of food and non-food supplies
• Follows all OKCPS and Child Nutrition Services policies and procedures
• Maintains all federal, state, local and Child Nutrition Services records to ensure they are in compliance
• Prepares and serves foods and beverages in accordance with all federal, state, local and Child Nutrition Services
• Extends recipes and menus, orders necessary food and supplies in accordance with approved procedures
• Maintains clean and safe work environment; performs job safely
• Communicate with Superintendent concerning changes affecting students and staff
• Cleans and sanitizes the cafeteria space, and all equipment
• Maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene and appearance
• Promotes the overall effectiveness of the cafeteria by performing all assigned tasks and sharing responsibilities of the cafeteria team
• Frequent lifting of food containers, food items, and pots etc
• Communicates effectively and professionally with co-workers, students, parents, vendors, and all school employees
• Attends training courses as appropriate for continuous development of skills and successfully complete training certifications will be expected to meet additional USDA and/or Local guidelines for professional standards and certificate
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, 50 pounds with assistance
• Maintain Cafeteria records and inventory of all Cafeteria supplies and equipment

Wynona is located 30 miles from Bartlesville, Ok and 1 hour northwest of Tulsa, Ok, in beautiful Osage County. The school serves approximately 120 students from diverse backgrounds. Wynona is currently in the process of remodeling multiple buildings. For example, the Elementary building is over 100 years old and is being remodeled with modern elements to function for the children of the future.
