Position Summary:

Prepares bid specifications, receives bids and makes purchases of commodities or goods. Works with various internal customers to purchase required material and/or parts. Purchases at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery and other factors, raw materials, equipment, machinery and/or supplies for the operation of the organization. May work directly in support of line operations and in collaborations with department managers, engineers or operations staff. Participates in the selection of vendor sources and can determine acceptable price and vendor. The Buyer’s ability to perform self-directed work, and to participate in a culture of continuous improvement is critical to the company’s success.

Responsibilities:

• Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, parts and supplies to ENTEK’s quality, cost and delivery standards.
• Review requisitions, bills of materials, projects, sales orders, and drawings.
• Review proposals from several vendors and may negotiate with acceptable bidder for contract with and/or without input from other team members and/or supervisors.
• Generate processing purchase orders as required by ENTEK departments.
• Maintains records pertaining to items purchased, cost, delivery, and product inventories.
• Work with vendors and internal ENTEK departments to resolve pricing, part(s), and delivery discrepancies.
• Prepare and track Request for Quotes.
• Determine appropriate shipping methods to best meet ENTEK’s delivery and cost requirements.
• All other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• One (1) year of experience in procurement or related field.
• Strong computer skills, ability to multi-task, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Satisfactory results from a pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Associates or bachelor’s degree.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in procurement or related field.

Hourly Pay Range: $26.00-$28.75
