Job Description:
Manage accounting department including accounts payable and payroll, making sure all entries are entered and accurate to ensure correct financials. Comply with all laws regarding financial statements and member accounts.
Essential Duties:
· Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
· Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
· Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
· Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable transactions
· Ensure payroll is processed in a timely manner
· Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
· Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
· Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
· Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
· Issue timely and complete financial statements
· Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
· Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
· Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
· Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
· Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
· Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
· Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
· Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
· Maintain a safe work environment and wear proper PPE when required

· Work overtime as required

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a combination of education or experience in related field preferred
Language Skills:
Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as software manuals or report programs. Ability to communicate with employees and customers in a calm manner.
Mathematical Skills: Have the ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense when given instructions and thinking on your feet when confronted with an issue that must be corrected immediately
