    In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR), we develop systems that sense, control, exploit, and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting missions from the seas, to the skies, to the stars.

    Business Development is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Director to lead our BD team within the C4ISR Systems business area for the Electronic Systems (ES). As the Business Development Director, you will report directly to the Vice President of Business Development for the ES Sector and will support the VP/GM of the C4ISR Systems Business Area. Primary responsibilities of this role include identifying, establishing, and nurturing strategic relationships within the markets where we operate, providing actionable market intelligence to business leaders, growing the orders pipeline through the creation, identification and qualification of quality opportunities and developing and executing capture strategies for strategic opportunities.
    Working with the C4ISR Systems Business Area Leadership team, the role will be key in the development of growth strategies, execution of multiple marketing approaches, collaboration on product and technical roadmaps across both Intelligence Community (IC) and DoD accounts. In addition, the role will require frequent and diverse customer engagements within the DoD and International communities, a comprehensive understanding of customers’ mission and technical requirements, and management of a geographically dispersed BD team. Working with the VP/GM, Product Line Directors (PLDs) and key program area directors/ managers, this role will shape and drive investment/ growth roadmaps and develop and execute a plan to fill orders pipeline with qualified opportunities that support the Business Areas strategic plan to outperform the market.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    1. Serve as an active member of the Business Development leadership team and a trusted advisor to the VP/ GM and a member of the C4ISR Systems leadership team to develop and shape growth strategies, cultivate a growth mindset within the C4ISR Systems organization, prioritize new business opportunities, and recommend investments to align with customers’ needs and requirement.
    2. Lead and develop a diverse high-performance team of business development professionals by example, exemplifying the BAE culture and values, creating an environment that inspires innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    3. Aggressively seek new business opportunities that are consistent with both the Business Area and Sector strategies by leveraging advanced technologies, customer relationships, and intercompany collaboration
    4. Lead the C4ISR Systems Business Development team to grow the orders pipeline within C4ISR Systems through the creation, identification, and qualification of quality opportunities.
    5. Support the development of business strategies by providing key insights into mission and customer requirements, competitor intelligence and market trends.
    6. Engage with a diverse customer community as a thought leader to identify, evaluate, and shape new business opportunities, utilizing market intelligence, customer needs, and competitor analysis.
    7. Oversee the creation and development of individual opportunity marketing plans and capture strategies, as well as for the campaign level marketing and strategies.
    8. Generate reports and updates on business development activities, market trends, and KPIs to senior management.



    Required Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
    • Proven track record of success in Business Development, Program Management, or within the US Military, with at least 7 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
    • Active TS/SCI clearance
    • Comprehensive knowledge of how our products are used by our customers from a mission perspective.
    • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound business decisions based on data, insights, and critical thinking.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Availability for domestic and international travel as required (50% travel)
    • Capable of tailoring industry best practices to ensure lean, effective business winning.
    • Ability to collaborate/partner with BAE Systems, Industry partners and our customers.
    • Skilled in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software

    TEAM LEADER EXPERIENCES:
    • Success in leading a diverse and geographically distributed high performing team.
    • Experience designing and executing large business area strategies and associated campaigns.
    • Existing customer and industry relationships.
    • Experience selling and winning in the IC, DoD, and international markets.

    • Demonstrated winning NGA, IC3, and Navy business.
    • Complex profit & loss (P&L) experience
    • Shipley assessed Capture Team Lead Belt
    • BD Lead for large competitive opportunities valued at > $200M (pre phase O thru 1B)
    • Master’s degree and 20 years’ experience in leadership roles


    Pay Information
    Full-Time Salary Range: $194600 - $330800

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
