Building and Grounds Supervisor jobs in Vermont

SD Ireland, a family-run organization with over 400 motivated employees across three divisions (Concrete, Site Work, and Real Estate Development), is seeking a full-time, hands on, all-year Landscape & Grounds Crew Supervisor to join our team. As the Crew Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of your crew, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of all tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the landscape maintenance crews, including scheduling, task assignment, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure the proper use and scheduled maintenance of landscaping equipment and tools.
• Oversee the implementation of landscape maintenance plans, including mowing, trimming, edging, snow plowing, planting (trees & shrubs), hydroseeding and other routine tasks.
• Identify and address any issues or concerns that arise during landscape maintenance operations.
• Provide guidance and training to landscape crew members to improve their skills and productivity.
• Collaborate with the management to develop and implement strategies for improving the quality and efficiency of landscape maintenance services.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any incidents or accidents.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in a landscape maintenance supervisory role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscaping & snow removal techniques, and equipment operation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills to address challenges that arise in the field.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to operate various landscaping equipment
