Position: Bookkeeping Clerk

Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent, detail-oriented Bookkeeping Clerk to join our accounting team. This individual will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Working closely with our finance and administrative teams, the Bookkeeping Clerk will ensure accuracy and efficiency in all accounting and financial activities, supporting the financial health and operational success of Six Rivers Media.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Analyze and reconcile bank statements and transactions.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
• Prepare invoices, checks, and financial statements.
• Assist with budget preparation and budget reports.
• Manage payroll processing and report payroll taxes.
• Coordinate with the finance department to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial policies and procedures.
• Assist with tax preparation and filing activities.
• Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed.
• Respond to accounting inquiries by management and employees in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information with integrity.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Team player with the ability to work independently.

Location: Kingsport, TN / Schedule Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
