Bookkeeper, Sr. maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions. Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The Bookkeper is responsible for entering data into QuickBooks, preparing reconciliations, entering payroll, preparing A/P checks, preparing payroll reports, verifying accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Process accounts receivable/payable and payroll in a timely manner
· Manage accounts payable, processing of invoices and maintain vendor files
· Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct accounts and ledgers
· Research and resolve AP invoice discrepancies and issues
· Post and process journal entries to ensure proper recording of business transactions
· Collaborate with other staff to ensure inventory is accurately received and participate in annual physical inventory count
· Reconcile employee credit card/business expense transactions
· Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
· Maintain the general ledger
· Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books
· Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks
· Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections
· Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform audits
· As appropriate, coordinate with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommend updates to enhance the account software
· Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
· Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Bachelor’s Degree a plus
· Three to five years of accounting experience using QuickBooks, both Desktop and Online versions
· Solid understand of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
· Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
· High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
· Excellent organizational skills and independent working skills
· Analytical and problem solving skills
· Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
· Highly proficient with accounting software

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
