Bookkeeper maintains and records a complete and systematic set of business transactions. Balances ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable, and payable. Being a Bookkeeper follows bookkeeping procedures established by the organization. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Additionally, Bookkeeper typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Bookkeeper works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the following:
- Timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and vendor questions resolution.
- Reconciliation of vendor statements to the Company’s records.
- Audit and review of employee expense reports.
- Assistance with the annual 1099 compliance, including determination of 1099 vendors.
- Assistance with the workers comp and insurance audits.
- Tracking and tagging of new fixed assets; communication with the accounting team about placing new assets in service or removing old assets from service.
- Assistance with the periodic fixed assets inventory.
- Assistance with SOX compliance and audit support.
- Assistance with the annual insurance renewals.
Requirements for the Bookkeeper include:
- 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- NetSutie experience is nice to have, but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
