OVERVIEW

The Bakery Manager will be directly responsible for the operations within and attached to Mack’s Bingo Bakery. This position is integral in nurturing the artistic and professional growth of our team and participants.

Your leadership will ensure the bakery's vibrant culture and operational efficiency, aligning with Farms Work Wonders' broader mission.

MUST-HAVES

• Working with youth : Contribute to a welcoming environment where youth can explore their interests while being supported with relationships and opportunities.
• Leadership development : Interest in developing comprehensive leadership skills that extend beyond the bakery floor. Contribute to goal setting, advancing the team culture, managing day-to-day operations, and working to achieve a mission much larger than your average bakery.
• Baking knowledge / experience : Proficiency in standard procedures a broad spectrum of baked goods in a small scale, yet high volume, bakery.
• Budgeting and budget management : Contribute to a financially sustainable model by driving revenue streams, contributing to the budgeting process, and overseeing weekly budget management.
• Curiosity and learning mindset : Ability to take and give constructive feedback.
• Commitment to quality : Uphold consistency and the bakery’s creative vision.
• Collaborative mindset : Work effectively within the bakery and restaurant, as well as with other departments.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Willingness and ability to commute or relocate to Wardensville, WV if necessary.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time, year-round position requiring weekend and holiday availability. This position is expected to work 40 hours per week.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This is an exempt position with a starting annual salary of $50,000, commensurate with experience. The comprehensive benefits package includes medical and life insurance, a generous paid time off policy, bereavement leave, and discounts at our enterprises.

We have a standard ninety (90) day orientation period that allows you to decide if we meet your expectations and for us to ensure you can perform the job assigned to you.

During the orientation period, you may or may not be eligible for certain benefits.

HOUSING

Short-term, limited housing assistance may be available for those relocating for the position.

ABOUT FARMS WORK WONDERS

Farms Work Wonders is a nonprofit social enterprise whose mission is to ignite the spark of curiosity in Appalachian youth so they see themselves and their future in new and exciting ways.

In 2016, Farms Work Wonders started with the Wardensville Garden Market project an organic farm and farm stand. Since opening, our enterprises have expanded to include a market, bakery, glass blowing studio, and restaurant that have currently created over 100 local, good-paying jobs with many held by local high school students.
