With over forty (40) skilled nursing communities across Iowa, we are committed to providing exceptional care and support at every stage of the healthcare journey. The Billing Manager oversees and leads the skilled nursing and hospice Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid/MCO, co-insurance, and private insurance claims processing and the follow-up and correspondence of outstanding accounts receivable, resolution, and denials for all insurance payers. Leading a team of Billing Specialists, the Billing Manager will also ensure their success, break down barriers, and communicate important information as necessary. What you will do as the Billing Manager: Submit Medicare credit balance reports quarterly and ensure that all claims are filed accurately and timely. Conducts effective account research and resolution of AR aging’s and handling of all insurance related correspondence. Adhere to medical records requests working closely with facility, clinical and reimbursement staff to ensure complete records requests are returned to the requestor. Resolve billing issues and implement procedures to help prevent issues from arising in the future. Develop and implement common procedures for the Billing department to ensure consistency and efficiency. Establish and maintain protocol of corporate billing documents and insurance correspondence to track all current Medicare, Medicaid/Managed Care and Hospice residents, including detailed information to verify payer source monthly. Review all insurance related write-offs of accounts that have been deemed uncollectable, approve/deny, as necessary. What it takes to become a Billing Manager with Care Initiatives: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, finance, accounting is preferred. Minimum of 3 years accounts receivable and collections experience required. Supervisor or manager experience is preferred. General knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
