Position Summary:
A hands-on, working management position responsible for meeting sales and expense budget goals; supervising event bar personnel; ordering par stock liquor, beer, wine, and soft drinks; checking in and inventorying bar product and supplies; and working with management to implement price structures and price changes.

Tasks and Competencies:
1.Operates outlet bars as schedule requires.
2.Designs and maintains a bar product/supplies inventory system.
3.Plans strategies and materials and develops recipes to promote the Beverage Program.
4.Maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas.
5.Develops standard operating procedures.
6.Maintains an adequate supply of liquors, wines, beer, mixers, etc. using an effective inventory management system.
7.Trains and supervises event Bar Personnel.
8.Assures that all laws applicable to beverage operations are consistently followed.
9.Ensures efficient beverage service in all banquet special function outlets.
10.Inspects to ensure that the Club’s sanitation, safety, energy management, preventative maintenance and other programs are implemented and complied with as they apply to the Beverage operation.
11.Orders the By The Glass wines from vendors as needed.
12.Stocks and supplies all banquet bars, golf course coolers, outside beverages, and beverage carts.
13.Picks up liquor order, ensuring a separation of duties.
14. Responsible for keeping POS updated with accurate beverage product descriptions, modifiers, and pricing.

Decision Making:
The Bar Manager handles complaints from Club members and guests relating to the Beverage Department.

Qualifications:
The Beverage Manager needs good interpersonal skills with members and employees and must reflect the Club’s image. The Beverage Manager must be a communicator and listener as well as an organizer and problem solver. Good grooming, neat and appropriate uniform, pleasant personality, friendly and excellent service skills are essential. The Beverage Manager must have an awareness level and a sense of members' needs. Focuses on a high level of satisfaction, creating a positive and professional atmosphere. The Beverage Manager must have product knowledge and new product awareness and the ability to operate within the parameters of a fiscally responsible budget.
