The Facilities Steward is under the direct supervision of the Food Service Director. Organizational Duties and Responsibilities Can support the mission and vision of The Methodist Home as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
Supports and facilitates positive interaction with others as evidenced by : professional maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace.
Exhibits effective communication skills including proper use of agency communication systems. Exhibits sound stewardship by effectively managing information and resources to achieve the objectives of The Methodist Home.
Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation with regulatory agencies. Participates in appropriate professional development programs and in services to attain and maintain competency.
Maintain effective skills necessary to respond to traumatized clients and support a trauma informed care system. Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities Communicates all pertinent information to the Food Service Director.
Assists with the daily food production and ensures high standards of sanitation preparation within Food Service Department as assigned by the Food Service Director.
Responsible for the filling of snacks and drinks Responsible for all aspects of kitchen cleanup. Responsible for preparing dining hall for meals as assigned by the Food Service Director Responsible for food station attendance during meals as assigned by the Food Service Director Assist in operating automatic dishwashing machine, wash and sanitize pot and pans.
Assist in overall cleanliness of dining hall and kitchen. Including sinks, walls, floors, and perform special cleaning duties as assigned by Food Service Director.
Assist in cleaning and organizing of walk ins, freezers, coolers, and dry storage. Assist with off-loading and organizing stock in kitchen and dry storage.
Attends all required meetings. Is prepared to discuss dining hall issues and is prepared to give a written response when needed.
Completes assigned tasks in a timely and competent fashion. Works cooperatively with all staff for the good of The Methodist Home and projects a positive public image.
Uses high standards of sanitation in all work. Assists with preparation and serving special guests and special event meals.
Ensures the posting of all menus in kitchen area as well as all living quarters. Assist in the cleaning and organization of all maintenance buildings and storage areas.
Assist with regular building and vehicle inspections. Assists with timely set-up and take down of all necessary equipment needed for special events.
Assists with donation pickup, delivery, and storage. Assure safe and responsible maintenance, cleanliness, and order of the campus grounds, buildings, vehicles and equipment.
Assists with oversight of Facilities related external contractors & outside vendors as needed. Accountable for inventory control as pertaining to tools, equipment, supply inventories, supplies, office equipment, and furniture including the moving and storage of these items.
Assists with compliance with all external-monitoring agencies including but not limited to the Fire Department, OSHA, OIG, COA, and other agencies pertaining to the safety and regulations of how KYUMH functions.
Must be available for on call duties at all locations. Completes assigned tasks in a timely and competent fashion. Communicates all pertinent information to the Facilities Coordinator or Facilities Director.
Accountable for proper & timely completion of all documentation associated with the requirements of the position. Attends all required meetings and team meetings.
Is prepared to discuss maintenance issues, and is prepared to give a written response when needed. Must be able to work along with or guided by Food Service Director / Facility Coordinator to complete work requests.
Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Coordinator or Facilities Director. Job Specifications Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or GED required. Skills in performing the required tasks as listed in the job description. Is trained and remains current in CPR and First Aid (we train).
