Automotive Mechanic jobs in Colorado
Automotive Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on automobiles and light trucks. Performs major repairs like body work, chassis and engine repair, and disassembling and assembling components. Being an Automotive Mechanic also performs minor repairs and maintenance work such as replacing worn drive belts, hoses, and filters. Helps diagnose issues, uses electronic indicator systems to identify problems, and performs routine safety checks on brakes, suspension, exhaust, cooling, and other systems. Additionally, Automotive Mechanic adheres to appropriate safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Automotive Mechanic works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Auto Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Completion of a post-secondary program in automotive service technology a plus.
ASE certification a bonus.
Must have a comprehensive tool set (both mental and physical).
Experience with electronic systems maintenance and repair.
Basic computer skills required.
Strong communication skills.
Must be mature, friendly and get along with coworkers and management.
Physical strength and stamina, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Punctual and responsible for the cleanliness of their bay and work performed.
