Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The primary purpose of the Audiologist is to function as an independent professional and service provider who supports the otolaryngology physicians, sees patients referred from other providers and patients needing hearing aids services. They also determine the type and degree of hearing impairment and implement habilitation and rehabilitation services. Additionally, this role will develop marketing strategies and initiatives to promote growth of the hearing aid practice. This role will report to the Medical Director.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Audiologist license in good standing and in applicable state required. CPR certification required. All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination or exemption.
Must have current licensure from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, and possess a Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (if Master's prepared) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, for the purpose of student supervision.
