Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Audiologist to join our team. The audiologist will be tasked with conducting thorough diagnostic assessments in collaboration with an otolaryngologist, as well as overseeing hearing aid assessment, selection, and fitting, providing patient counseling, and delivering ongoing follow-up care.
Duties:
- Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess hearing loss and balance disorders
- Conduct comprehensive audiological assessments, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and tympanometry
- Interpret test results and provide accurate diagnoses
- Recommend and fit appropriate hearing aids or other assistive devices
- Provide counseling to patients and their families on hearing loss management strategies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as otolaryngologists and speech-language pathologists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in audiology research and technology
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid state license or certification in Audiology
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
