Responds to and resolves routine questions and technical issues. Additionally, Audio Visual Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Audio Visual Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.   • Responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment.

    PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES

    • Set up and install equipment such as microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, sports events, meetings and conventions, presentations, and news conferences. This may include some or all of the following:

    • Set up and operate sound equipment.

    • Set up and operate spotlights.

    • Confer with meeting or concert director to establish cues and directions.

    • Create and install custom lighting systems.

    • Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality.

    • Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layout.

    • Test and resolve equipment issues.

    • Diagnose and correct media system problems.

    • Mix sound inputs and feeds.

    • Send in equipment for repairs as needed.

    • Switch video input sources from one camera to another.

    • Discuss assignments.

    • Clean audio and video equipment and store properly.

    • Ensure equipment the safe transfer and shipment of equipment.

    • Perform duties on location.

    • Work with computer-controlled lighting systems.

    • Duplicate audio and video data.

    • Safekeeping of company equipment.

    QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to calculate figures and amounts suck as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    Current and valid Driver’s License

    OTHER:

    May need the ability to work within the R2 Software Program understanding all portions of the program relevant and necessary perform basic order entry, fulfillment, updating, inventory control and labor scheduling. Individual must provide a functioning mobile device with company approved timekeeping system installed.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects tolls, or controls, and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and stop, kneel, crouch and crawl. From time to time, the employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. Employee must regularly lift and/or move 50 lbs; frequently (less than 20% of the time) lift and/or move 100 lbs. Additional physical job requirements:

    1. Must be able to repeatedly lift and move objects weighing in excess of 50 lbs.

    2. Must be able to regularly use & work safely on ladders at heights of 12-16’.

    3. Must be able to safely operate company owned and leased vehicles, or own

    on company time.

    4. Crawl, kneel, able to get off floor, without assistance.

    5. Able to read instructions, computer screen – may use corrective lenses.

    6. Climb stairs, walk without assistance.

    7. Able to work under tables, desks, racks and other confined spaces without assistance.

    8. Able to operate power tools safely.

    9. Use a keyboard without assistance.
