Associate Pastor assists the pastor in religious services and managing daily operations of an organization. Leads and implements outreach and educational programs and events that will maintain and grow membership. Being an Associate Pastor provides clerical support such as researching, selecting, and documenting passages or prayers to assist the pastor in planning and leading worship. Assists with administrative duties including managing calendars and schedules, preparing materials or educational documents, and communicating with volunteers. Additionally, Associate Pastor performs religious services and leads prayer. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a pastor. The Associate Pastor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Creswell Church of Christ is looking for an outgoing associate pastor who will promote the ministries and service of the church. Our next Associate Pastor will work alongside our Pastor as he begins the process of retirement. This position will directly lead two major Ministry areas, focusing on our teens and young adults along with one other ministry to be collaboratively chosen, and indirectly oversee a group of ministries. Our church has built a strong connection to our local schools, families and community over the past decade and your ability to work collaboratively with our community and membership is critical.
The goal is for the Associate to grow into their abilities where they can assume the role of being our next Pastor. A day in the life of serving our community as Associate Pastor could look like: * Connecting with families each day, by phone and in person; * Leading small group discussions with teens and young adults; * Delivering food boxes to families who experience food insecurity; * Attending sports games, or music concerts, to support the youth and families with which you are building connections; * Being inside elementary school classrooms, reading with kids and supporting our school teachers To learn more about this position and the opportunity to be involved with the many ministries of the Creswell Church of Christ, please click the link below to watch a short video about our church.
