Associate Pastor assists the pastor in religious services and managing daily operations of an organization. Leads and implements outreach and educational programs and events that will maintain and grow membership. Being an Associate Pastor provides clerical support such as researching, selecting, and documenting passages or prayers to assist the pastor in planning and leading worship. Assists with administrative duties including managing calendars and schedules, preparing materials or educational documents, and communicating with volunteers. Additionally, Associate Pastor performs religious services and leads prayer. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a pastor. The Associate Pastor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Position Summary:
The Associate Pastor will be responsible for overseeing and leading youth ministry programing for Middle School and High School students in such a way that is Christ-centered, biblically focused, and encourages a growing and lifelong faith.
It is also preferable but not required that the Associate Pastor is involved in the leading of the worship ministry and assists in planning worship services with the Sr. Pastor.
Youth Ministry Duties:
· Lead students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by setting a godly example, building authentic relationships, through sound Biblical teaching, and through sound Biblical leadership.
· Plan and lead weekly youth group meetings
· Oversight of our after-school program on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at The Hub (our youth center). This program operates 2:30-4:30 and averages between 40 and 60 Middle School and High School students.
· Plan and lead special events with the student ministry.
· Communicate with parents through newsletters, announcements, website, etc.
· Attend school function where students are involved.
Worship Ministry Duties:
· Meet weekly with Sr. Pastor to plan weekly worship service.
· Oversee weekly Sunday morning worship, including leading two or three Sundays per month.
· Recruit new members for the worship team.
Core Priorities:
· Create a bridge between the after-school program and youth group.
· Create a bridge between youth group and Sunday morning worship.
· Encourage youth involvement in Sunday morning worship service.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Youth Ministry or related field will be given preference but is not required.
· A strong heart for reaching the community.
· A pastoral heart.
· A great sense of humor and wants to have fun.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with all ages.
· A robust relationship with the Lord.
· A teachable spirit.
· A compassionate spirit.
· A heart to reach the lost with hope of the Gospel message.
Oversight and Accountability:
The Associate Pastor will be directly supervised by the Sr. Pastor. Hartland Bible Church is an elder led church and the Associate Pastor will occasionally meet with the board to update them on the youth and worship ministries. The Associate Pastor will also prepare and report to the congregation at the Annual Meeting.
***We strongly encourage our Associate Pastor to find ways to purposely insert themselves into the community in order to build connections with community members and students. IE Coaching, substitute teaching, etc.

Pay: $31,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
