Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. This position will be responsible for recruiting students into the Professional Master's Program in Materials Engineering, mentoring and advising them on their academic courses as a graduate advisor, and instructing students in engineering courses serving the professional Master's students. The position will assist in professional development activities and make connections to industry for internship opportunities for the students.
This position will perform duties as a 25% Lecturer and 75% Managing Director during the academic year.
