Associate Dean of Continuing Education assists Dean with the management of administrative functions of the college of continuing education. Collaborates with Dean on planning college strategic initiatives and supports on college fundraising. Being an Associate Dean of Continuing Education provides administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Typically requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically reports to a Dean. The Associate Dean of Continuing Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Duties and Responsibilities:- Effectively maintain CE accounting, contracts, requisitions to include records of departmental purchases, equipment, travel statistical data, and daily office activities, daily program activities and appointments
- Maintain the accounting component of Destiny One and Peoplesoft, and provide regular budget updates and reports
- Compile factual information from files, records publications and other sources, and tabulates this information in accordance with standardized report form
- Receive, open, sort and distribute mails as directed
- Establish and maintain accurate and current files of letters, reports, records and other documentary material and ensure that information in these files is kept confidential,
- Render administrative assistance as directed in accordance with specific written or oral instructions
- Prepare request for office supplies as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
An Associate degree in Secretarial Science, Office Administration or other appropriate field with one year of administrative or secretarial experience or a certificate in Secretarial Science with 2 years of administrative or secretarial experience required. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, and have great organizational skills.
A typing proficiency exam of 40 net words per minute is also required. To be considered for this position, typing proficiency results must be submitted to the ASU Office of Human Resources by the announcement closing date.
