Assistant Treasurer assists in the direction and management of an organization's treasury activities. Oversees and directs all aspects of daily treasury activities. Being an Assistant Treasurer ensures financial transactions, policies, and procedures fulfill the organization's objectives, needs, and regulatory body requirements. Assists with the corporate banking, credit, and investment functions. Additionally, Assistant Treasurer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Assistant Treasurer manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an Assistant Treasurer typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Job Summary:
Applications are being accepted for the position of full-time Deputy Treasurer to work in the Botetourt County Treasurer’s Office. Candidate will perform responsible, skilled, clerical work, assisting with the operation of the Treasurer’s Office. Primary tasks include: receiving tax payments, including real estate, personal property, and state income tax, balancing a cash drawer, use of a computer including tax, accounting and Microsoft Office programs, use of fax, 10 key calculator, and other office machines.
Candidate must have education or prior experience with cashiering as well as customer service experience; must also possess excellent public relation and communication skills, be motivated and punctual; willing to be cross-trained within the office; be available to participate in on-going educational classes.
