Position summary:
Teacher assistant is a full-time position. This is an hourly position. The teacher assistant will work closely with the Lead Teacher in conducting daily duties such as preparing and serving snack, changing diapers, writing daily reports, recording attendance/updating Brightwheel, engaging in play, assisting in cleaning the classroom, helping with children during naptime, assisting with lesson plans, potty training, setting up centers while the Lead Teacher is teaching, aid in teaching appropriate behavior and social skills, enforcing school and classroom rules, and creating a safe, fun, and loving environment.
To be successful as a teacher assistant, you must possess a passion for children and exercise patience with them. You need to display a friendly and positive attitude and greet parents and children by their name with a warm, inviting demeanor. Ultimately, you should constantly monitor and supervise the children in your care to ensure their safety. The teacher assistant also needs to be alert and helpful in case of an emergency, adhering to all policies/procedures outlined in our Safety Standards & Handbook.
Pay: $13-$15/hr. – based on experience, education, and knowledge
Working Hours: 8:30-5:30pm (closing shift) with a 1hr. lunch break (may switch with Lead to 7am-4pm-if needed)
Teacher Assistant Requirements:
*High School Diploma or equivalent
*Must be 21 years of age or older.
*Flexibility with schedule and training as needed.
*Comfortable switching classrooms to help other teachers when needed
*On-the-job training required during and outside of normal business hours.
Skills required:
*Comfortability leading the classroom effectively in the Lead Teachers absence
*Strong classroom management
*Basic computer/Microsoft office literacy.
*Excellent communication skills.
*Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality.
