Art Manager manages the creative design and execution of visual communications to meet an organization's marketing or advertising objectives. Provides internal clients with design standards, tools, and guidance on communicating corporate image, branding, and identity. Being an Art Manager oversees the design and production operations of all visual elements including publications, infographics, and social content, that are deployed across digital, interactive and print. Monitors projects and timelines. Additionally, Art Manager stays current on latest trends. Develops and manages a network of vendors, freelance artists, and designers to utilize for project support. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in art, graphic design or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Art Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Art Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary

    The Manager, Accounting is a critical role within the Accounting Team. This role will be focused on general accounting and responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all transactions in the general ledger. This position reports to the Controller/Director, Accounting and has a minimum of 2 direct reports.

    Work Schedule

    This position is a full-time, hybrid on-site/remote position, required to work onsite at least three (3) days per week / may work from home up to two (2) days per week.

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities

    • Oversees and participates in the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial recording on a timely basis.
    • Oversee the department’s daily operations and works closely with the team on accounting functions, including accounts payable & receivable, revenue recognition, and treasury management.
    • Works extensively with other departments to ensure close deadlines are met.
    • Provides monthly variance analysis, including budget verses actual, with commentary and solutions to the deviations.
    • Reviews and posts journal entries, reviews account reconciliations, researches and adjusts discrepancies, and proposes improvements to the department processes.
    • Supports timely issuance of audited financial statements and filing of various tax forms including Form 990.
    • Assists with preparing finance materials for committee and board meetings.
    • Participates in annual external audit including preparation of schedules and statements.
    • Possesses ERP implementation experience and understands the IT controls in accounting.
    • Serve as financial reporting system administrator.
    • Holds in-depth knowledge of accounting rules and regulations including: USGAAP, USGAAS, IRS regulations, Yellow Book Audit and other finance and compliance requirements. Possesses a well-rounded knowledge of Accounting Section Codification (ASC) 958 Not for Profit Entities and stays up to date with new accounting pronouncements.
    • Ensures compliance with the Museum’s accounting policy.
    • Assists with implementing and maintaining effective internal controls. Works with operational departments for improvements and provides practical solutions.
    • Supports ad hoc projects as assigned.
    • Directly supervises and coaches accounting staff. Promotes a team environment.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Attributes

    • CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in general accounting and/or audit, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
    • Ability to meet predetermined deadlines, assess priorities and manage multiple projects.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively identify and communicate potential problems and propose solutions.
    • Strong project management and advanced Excel skills.
    • Knowledge of internal controls over financial reporting.
    • ERP and IT intelligence are preferred.
    • Audit experience is preferred.
    • Non-profit accounting experience preferred.
    • Ability to think proactively and work in a highly collaborative environment.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, move about, and access and operate equipment.
    • The ability to communicate information and instructions so others will understand.
    • Constantly uses a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.
    • Ability to alternate between sitting and standing.
    • Ability to lift and move up to twenty (20) pounds.

    Salary: $93,000 - $100,000 annually, based on expertise; includes a comprehensive benefits package including medical plan, dental plan, vision, life insurance, Pension, 401K retirement, and generous paid time off.
