Adult Day Care Director creates and directs programs that address the health, psychosocial, and educational needs of older individuals and their caregivers and that provide clients a safe, secure, and positive daily experience. Responsible for recruiting, training, and retention of qualified staff. Being an Adult Day Care Director manages the financial operations for the center including billing, reimbursements, and budgets. Performs assessments of prospective clients to determine if programs will meet their needs. Additionally, Adult Day Care Director coordinates with caregivers, families, social services agencies, and medical professionals to plan clients program of care. Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, quality care, compliance with applicable regulations and standards, and to identify areas for improvement or expanded program offerings. May be a RN with experience in gerontology. Requires a bachelor's degree of social science or a directly related field. Typically reports to top management. Curriculum Implementation:
Work daily with co-worker to write children’s observation, discuss children’s current interests and needs and write resulting Daily Lesson Plan for the next day’s activities; gather and prepare materials needed for the next day’s activities and post completed Lesson Plan form for the next day on the on the classroom wall before leaving.
Work with co-worker to set-up and maintain a room arrangement (e.g., divided into logically located interest areas that make sense to children; divided by low shelfing, with several ways to get in and out each area).
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for children
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through engaging activities
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide feedback to parents
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's development and progress
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior
- Utilize various teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles
Experience:
- Previous experience in childcare or preschool setting is preferred
- Ability to educate and engage young children in interactive learning experiences
- Familiarity with child welfare guidelines and regulations
- Strong behavior management skills
- Experience working with students with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to create a positive and nurturing classroom environment
