Addiction Mental Health Assessor conducts initial and ongoing assessments of patients in Alcohol and Drug (AoD) addiction programs to determine mental health needs and establish care requirements. Provides initial treatment and refers clients to appropriate agencies/providers as needed. Being an Addiction Mental Health Assessor works with patients and families to develop appropriate chemical dependency service plans. Complies with standards in the area of evaluation, assessment, treatment, and service delivery to clients. Additionally, Addiction Mental Health Assessor requires certification as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) or similar. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Addiction Mental Health Assessor's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing compassionate, evidenced-based medical care to adult patients with substance use disorders. You will develop and utilize expert assessment skills, therapeutic relationship building, specialty medication knowledge, and current best practices to help patients safely navigate withdrawal and build a strong foundation for long-term recovery from addiction. You should endorse Medication Assisted Treatment as an important treatment option for appropriate candidates.
You will provide medical services across a continuum of care that includes inpatient Medically Monitored Detox (ASAM 3.7) and High Intensity Residential Services (ASAM 3.5), as well as range of outpatient services (ASAM 2.5-1.0).
The ideal candidate has broad direct care experience, and particular expertise in addiction treatment. You should be efficient, flexible, and eager to embrace a team-based approach that models collaborative, solution-based problem solving, and authentic communication.
