Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the day-to-day operational activities of an accounts receivable department. Creates and distributes invoices to customers. Being an Accounts Receivable Clerk records, verifies, and posts payments received by the organization and ensures transactions are recorded in accordance with internal accounting policies. Maintains and reconciles accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate and timely receipt of payments. Additionally, Accounts Receivable Clerk responds to customer inquiries and assists with the research of any discrepancies regarding bills. May utilize accounting software and systems to manage invoices and payments. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Accounts Receivable Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. DeBest Plumbing, Inc. is hiring a full-time, dependable Accounts Receivable Clerk; Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm (lunch 12-1).
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Receive, process, and verify invoices (ensure proper coding for job costing)
Setup new job budgets/Schedule of values in accounting software
Process contracts and change orders from Contractors/Builders
Prepare AIA documents
Account Collections
Maintain accurate records of transactions
Utilize accounting software – Foundation
Assist with various accounting/office tasks as assigned
Back-up to Service Dispatch Scheduler
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1-3 years accounting experience preferred (on the job or in the classroom; including any internships)
Knowledge/Interest of general accounting principles
Ability to work independently and find solutions to issues that arise
High degree of initiative, accuracy, and adaptability
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Good mathematical background
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet hard deadlines
Accurate 10-Key
Ability to work with a diverse group of people
Construction accounting experience preferred, but not required
