Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the day-to-day operational activities of an organization's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. Maintains and reconciles the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger to validate charges and ensure timely and accurate payments and receipt of payments. Being an Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor implements standard operating procedures to maintain accurate financial records and control reports. Monitors collection period and sends follow-up inquiries regarding payments for the organization. Additionally, Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor negotiates with past-due accounts to resolve all payment issues in a timely manner. Prepares and evaluates applicable accounting reports to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost-savings or process improvements and relays conclusions to management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Position Overview:


    We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Supervisor to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable process and ensuring timely and accurate collection of payments from customers. The Accounts Receivable Supervisor will play a key role in managing the accounts receivable team, monitoring outstanding balances, resolving customer issues, and implementing efficient collection strategies.


    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and guide the accounts receivable team, including setting performance goals, conducting regular performance evaluations, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
    • Oversee the daily operations of the accounts receivable department, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and promptly.
    • Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances, including regular review of aging reports and follow-up with customers on overdue payments.
    • Investigate and resolve customer billing discrepancies or disputes in a professional and timely manner, working closely with sales, customer service, and other internal teams to address customer concerns.
    • Develop and implement effective collection strategies, including establishing credit terms, setting up payment plans, and initiating collection efforts as necessary.
    • Review and analyze accounts receivable data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement, and provide recommendations to management for process enhancements or policy changes.
    • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing and recording of revenue transactions, as well as proper application of cash receipts.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records, including contact information, payment terms, and collection notes.
    • Prepare regular reports and provide management with insights on accounts receivable performance, including aging analysis, collection forecast, and key performance indicators.
    • Developed and implemented effective strategies to improve cash flow and reduce days sales outstanding (DSO).
    • Stay up to date with industry best practices and changes in accounting regulations related to accounts receivable management and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements (with the Controller’s supervision).

    Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
    • 3 years of experience in accounts receivable or related roles, with 2 years in a supervisory capacity preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of accounts receivable processes, best practices, and regulations.
    • Proficiency in using accounting software and related tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, Salesforce, and NetSuite.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Proven leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
    • Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial data.
