Accounting Supervisor supervises accounting staff in daily operations of one or more accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, ledger maintenance, revenue, and asset accounting. Oversees calculating, posting, and verification of financial data for use in maintaining accounting and statistical records. Being an Accounting Supervisor ensures all analysis and reporting are accurate and prepared in compliance with accounting policies and procedures. Establishes and implements productivity and quality standards. Additionally, Accounting Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Accounting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Accounting Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. Key Responsibilities:- Oversee outgoing and incoming shipping activities to ensure accurate and timely delivery of goods.
- Verify items for shipment, ensuring they are in good condition and destined for the correct location.
- Manage shipping documentation, including notices, orders, and invoices, to prioritize tasks and select appropriate shipping methods.
- Maintain accurate shipping records in our database.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with warehouse and shipping standards, optimizing space utilization.
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliation to support production goals.
- Report damaged goods and inventory discrepancies to management.
- Enforce safety regulations to create a secure work environment.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management
- 2 years of experience in a warehouse supervisory role
- Technical shipping knowledge
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve in a fast paced environment
