Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Being an Accountant compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Additionally, Accountant typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Accountant work is closely managed. Responsibilities- Enter financial data and transactions
- Analyze budgets and other financial information
- Reconcile bank statements
- Prepare financial reports and statements
- Verify the accuracy of transactions that have been entered
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Create accounting policies to comply with all rules and regulations
- Process payroll
Previous experience as an accountant, bookkeeper, or similar position- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Good with spreadsheets, experienced in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and basic accounting systems
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
